Microprocessor-assisted shaft signal system (MASS)
The system provides:
-
Light (and sound) indication of performance
-
Duty mode (people, cargo, oversize) indication by the signaling loader at the landing platform to every work station
-
Duty mode (inspection, caGE) indication by the hoist operator
-
Where two landing platforms are available, selection of the used platform by the signaling loader, being at the platform, the indication thereof at the signaling loader’s and hoist operator’s work stations
-
Receiving encoded signals by other equipment in CAGE mode and conversion thereof to a motion command indicated at the hoist operator’s display
-
Receiving cage arrester status signals from other equipment and sending STOP command in CARGO mode in case of their engagement in motion, or interlocking a motion command while indicating the motion command cancellation cause or the interlocking event at the hoist operator’s display
-
Selecting of the cage destination (max. 12 levels) by the signaling loader and indication thereof to the signaling loader, hoister operator, and signalman at the selected level
-
Indication of accurate cage stoppage at a landing platform and the selected level, and display thereof to the signaling loader, hoister operator, and signalman at the selected level
-
Gate unlocking signal output triggered by the accurate stop sensor at the selected level landing platform
-
Compatibility with container overtravel sensors which trigger hoist emergency stop, and indication thereof at the hoist operator’s display
-
Capability to issue enable signals to the machines used at the landing platform and level insets
-
Issuing motion commands (UP, DOWN, SLOWLY UP, SLOWLY DOWN, STOP) to the hoister operator and to the signalmen by the signaling loader at the landing platform
-
Issuing motion commands (UP, DOWN, SLOWLY UP, SLOWLY DOWN, STOP) to the signaling loader at the landing platform by the signalmen at the levels
-
Issuing an urgent cage call to the landing platform from the standby levels
-
Issuing explosives or invalid transportation warning signals to all work stations
-
Issuing EMERGENCY STOP signal to all work stations by the signaling loader at the landing platform or signalmen at the levels
-
EMERGENCY STOP resetting at the work station it was initiated, only
-
Issuing shaft gate (safety guard), landing chair (dogs, drop rails), brake (balancing) cable status signals to all work stations from the level and landing platform
-
Issuing a fire door status signal to the hoist operator from the landing platform, and indication thereof in the hoist operator’s cabin and at the landing platform
-
Issuing GO enable signal together with motion commands (UP, DOWN, SLOWLY UP, SLOWLY DOWN) to set the hoist in motion, and indication thereof at the signaling loader work station
-
Issuing binary signals (EMERGENCY STOP, STOP, GO, GATES, DOGS, DROP RAILS, PEOPLE, CARGO, OVERSIZE, INSPECTION, CAGE, BRAKE CABLES, LOCK FORWARD, LOCK BACKWARD, etc.) by means of relay terminals at the central control station (CCS) for the purpose of the hoist control circuit
-
Transmission of MASS system status data by Modbus or Profibus protocol for the purpose of the hoist control circuit
Further, the system can log hoist operation and record all events on its own memory card
When connected to a PC, MASS data system provides:
-
Hoist operation logging with the ability to record the issued command address, date, time, sending work station
-
Event log review and print functions
-
Indication of the current state of the controls and signaling loader’s and signalmen’s work station sensors at the PC mnemonic diagram with details for each work station
-
Installing backup or updated software on the controller
