Conveyance control and indication system

The system provides:

  • Two-way voice communication between the hoist operator and the personnel at the conveyance roof or in the cage

  • Issuing motion commands to the drive room from the device installed at the conveyance roof or in the cage

  • Issuing EMERGENCY STOP and LOCK signals to the hoist control circuit by the personnel at the conveyance roof or in the cage in order to stop or prevent hoist motion

  • Signal indication by engaging a respective relay in the central station cabinet and displaying a message at the hoist operator’s display, both with sound alarm

  • Receiving hoist status (GO, STOP) radio signals from the hoist building equipment at the cage roof and subsequent light indication thereof

  • Issuing a sound alarm to announce recording of the communication between the operator and the personnel in the cage or at the conveyance roof by means of a voice recorder installed in the hoist room

  • Data channel to exchange digital data between the cage/skip equipment and the plant room

  • Uninterrupted automatic performance monitoring of all system devices and components

  • Issuing an automatic hoist stop signal upon loss of connection and conveyance trip, to be processed by the hoist control circuit as provided for by the workflow

  • Uninterrupted monitoring of the battery level and indication of battery discharge to the hoist operator

  • Data output to the daily log; the Customer may use the log unedited to arrange the log in the order preset by the Customer

Main system components:

  • Central station

  • Hoist operator’s indication panel

  • Deflection sheave platform data processing and transfer unit with an antenna assembly

  • Cage station with an antenna assembly

  • Cable slack sensors, cage gate sensors, arresters

Versions of the system components shall be selected on the basis of a requirements specification and a datasheet.

Advantages over similar systems:

  • Higher interference resistance

  • Big amount of data transferred from the conveyance

  • Ability to process analogue and pulse signals from the sensors installed at the conveyance, which allows real-time monitoring of wire condition

  • Possibility to control conveyance equipment from the surface by a wireless communication channel

  • The system can uninterruptedly monitor the status and performance of all connected devices and sensors. Unit input statuses can be checked at the respective page

  • Loss of connection or sensor fault is indicated with a text message at the operator’s display

  • Configuring from the operator’s panel: a sensor may be excluded or other settings can be made in the password protected settings menu
